At first, I thought this was a terribly bad idea. If you don't police a populace, especially considering a large portion of the demographic here, they can get antagonistic and DOWNRIGHT ROWDY YA'LL. As a professional art site, I see that as a silly and immature response to gigantic whiners like *snapesnogger and ~DivineAngel, among countless others. It basically allows a person to demonize another user for any reason whatsoever. It doesn't even matter what the reason is. A person, especially popular users, could send their legions of mindless fans on whoever they wanted. That could ruin a person's repuation, hell, even their financial income. All because of something tiny like a justified critique.

Any community, even this one, is capable of policing itself. I could see that happening. But will it? Most likely not, given the childish attitude so many people radiate around here. Hell, that's pretty much a model for the internet in fucking general.

But in retrospect, I don't think it's such a bad idea anymore. At least not to me. For I could be concerned about all those things, and even the integrity of an online community like this one. Then I remember something funny: I don't care. I come here for my own amusement and watch people whose art I like. The few entries I've submitted have consisted of me getting bored and firing up Apophysis and pure fucking idiocy in the Politics forum (as if that was anything new). I'm an antagonistic jackass/part-time troll. Why should I care? Now, I'll just get more laughs.
